The National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System regulates a wide variety of industries, and often times the rules vary from industry to industry. If that weren’t complicated enough, States and sometimes even municipalities add their own set of rules and regulations. Let our compliance staff ease this burden by preparing and filing your permit application. Over the past 10 years we have amassed volumes of data regarding states and local government policy. The dynamic nature of these rules requires constant attention and research. Our Compliance Professionals know the laws regardless of your location. We will not allow you to be blindsided by area specific or new regulations.
Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans are often generated by employing a one size fits all approach, ultimately leading to unnecessary risk. At Merit we take a much more in-depth approach. Our SWPPP design process begins with an extensive on-site inspection to identify areas of concern and risk on your project. We then create a program of compliance that focuses on reducing your risk and cost.
Erosion and Sediment Control installation, maintenance, and removal are the costliest aspects of storm water compliance. Our team has the knowledge and tools to ensure that your site is utilizing the proper controls in the proper places. Again, our focus is on reducing your risk and cost.
Regulations require periodic storm water inspections. Routine inspections on your project is one of the most important aspects of your compliance program. Utilizing unqualified inspectors can result in large amounts of risk. The individuals on our inspection team are all qualified storm water inspectors who have either achieved their CESSWI certification or are gaining the experience to pursue it. We also have daily verification procedures to ensure that your site has been visited. We also have a quality control auditor routinely visit your site to ensure your SWPPP is completely compliant and ready for review by any enforcement agent.
Our certified team of auditors is ready to conduct an EPA Ready Audit for all your projects to verify that your program is compliant.
One of the most effective ways to achieve compliance is for everyone on your team to have knowledge of the storm water rules and regulations. We strongly encourage you to employ our training services upon inception of your storm water program. We can provide you with years of knowledge and insight to prevent you from making costly mistakes.
If a local, state, or federal storm water inspector comes to your project, the first thing you should do is call for Merit’s Enforcement Response Team.
